Import Apple Pay and Google Pay payments automatically

ENCSDEESFRITNLPLPTPT-BRRUSKTRUK

ShareCost can capture your contactless card payments and turn them into expenses. Captured payments wait in an import list until you decide which ones to share. Transaction data stays on the phone; it is never uploaded to our servers.

Review captured payments

  1. On Home, tap Apple Pay or Google Pay. The Apple Pay Import or Google Pay Import list opens with the merchant, amount and date of each payment.
  2. Tap a payment to open the expense form pre-filled with merchant, amount, currency, date and place. Choose the group and split, then save.
  3. Swipe or tap Dismiss for payments you do not want to share. Transaction dismissed shows an Undo button for a few seconds.
  4. Long-press to select several payments, then Select all, Create Expense or Dismiss.

Card rules

The first payment from a new card shows New card: … with a question where its payments should go: Always add to … (a group), Ignore this card or Not now. Rules are listed under Card rules on the setup screen, where Remove rule resets them.

Good to know

Android

Google Pay import reads Google Wallet payment notifications. Open Home, tap Google Pay:

  1. Under Notification Access, tap Open Settings and allow ShareCost. Only Google Wallet payment notifications are captured — nothing else.
  2. Optionally, under Battery Optimization, tap Disable Optimization so the phone does not stop the capture service when idle.
  3. Tap Continue.

If the system later turns the access off, Home shows Transaction import paused with a Turn on button.

iOS

Apple Pay import uses the Shortcuts app. Open Home, tap Apple Pay:

  1. Tap Add ShareCost shortcut. Shortcuts opens with everything configured; tap Add Shortcut there.
  2. Tap Open Automations and switch on the automation next to the ShareCost shortcut.
  3. Back in ShareCost, tap I've completed the setup. The screen shows Setup confirmed. The first captured payment will show up in Apple Pay Import. and later Verified — a payment was captured on ….

Set up manually instead walks you through creating a Transaction automation yourself. If the Shortcuts app is missing you see Get Shortcuts from the App Store.
