Every expense in ShareCost belongs to a group, for example "Roommates", "Trip to Paris" or "Family". A group has its own members, currency, balances and settlements. You can create as many groups as you like.
Create a group
- Open the Groups tab and tap the + button, then Create Group. Right after your first sign-in you can also tap Create My First Group.
- Enter a Group Name (required) and optionally a Description.
- Pick the Default Currency. Balances and settlements in this group are shown in this currency. Your profile currency is suggested first. You can change the group currency later in Group Settings.
- Choose a colour and tap Create Group.
You become the admin of the new group. The app then shows Invite Members with a QR code and a Share Invite Link button. You can skip this with I'll do this later and invite people any time, see Invite people to a group.
What you see in a group
Open a group from the Groups tab. It has four tabs:
- Expenses: everything spent in the group, with Add Expense and Settle Up actions.
- Members: who is in the group, with Add Member.
- Balances: who owes whom, with suggested settlements.
- Stats: spending charts for the group.
